Arches National Park

Description

Late October is one of my favorite times to visit and camp in Arches National Park. The days are mostly temperate, the cottonwood trees start to turn yellow, the nights start to get cooler making it perfect for cozying up next to the campfire, and the stargazing is simply amazing. These past two years, we've also been lucky to view two different comets along with the Milky Way galaxy! This year, it was Comet Lemmon that we were able to witness just after sunset. I captured this single exposure image of Turret Arch with the Milky Way galaxy to the left, Comet Lemmon all the way to the right of the frame, and a shooting star in between the two! It was such a special night.
