Description

Haleakala - One of the world's largest dormant volcanic craters

.

Where there's a will, there's a way - We took the challenge route (A 12-mile full-day hike began at Halemau'u (7,990 ft), crossed the valley floor, and ended at Keonehe'ehe'e Trailhead (9740 ft)), experienced magnificent crater views and witnessed the beauty of the Moon/Mars-like landscape. The entire hiking was long, but I really appreciated this outdoor activity connecting us all. The last part of the sliding sands hiking was extremely strenuous, but with our strong determination and friendship bonding, we motivated, encouraged and helped out each other (youngest one is only 7-year-old) to accomplish this difficult mission in our trip.
