Description

This is a shot of Douglas Falls on the North Fork of the Blackwater River near Thomas, WV. What makes this waterfall unique is its orange stained boulders caused by the pollution from coke ovens that were used upstream of the falls some years ago. The shot was taken with a Nikon D800 camera with a f3.5, 28-300mm Nikkor lens set at 42 mm. Exposure was 13 seconds at f25, ISO100.
