Description

Nesting Loon.
I have been visiting the Superior National Forest regularly for nearly thirty years. I had always admired loon, but had a difficult time photographing them. The birds are often elusive, keeping their distance and diving out of sight. We were fortunate to find this bird nesting and floated quietly by with only a soft whir of a camera shutter.
