Description
When I got to Olympic National Park, I stopped at the ranger station to ask them what hikes they recommend as I often do at new parks. The ranger recommend that Second Beach be the first beach I see. Not fully knowing what to expect I made my way to the parking lot for the trail and set off down the trail. The sea stack in the picture is the first glimpse from the trail of the ocean. I stopped to stake this picture to try and capture the feeling I had seeing a sea stack for the first time. It was a pure moment of shock at the beauty of what nature had created. I stood there for a moment in disbelief that it could get better. But the closer I got to the sea stack the more magnificent it became. But this photo is special, as it captures the first site and feeling of this glories rock formation.
