Description

On our cruise ship, we headed up the Tarr Inlet to find Margerie Glacier, which is categorized as a tidewater glacier, one of eleven remaining in the National Park. A tidewater glacier is one whose terminus encounters seawater at least at high tide. Margerie Glacier rises prominently 250 feet above the water line.
